Terms for Buyers

As a buyer on Helparr, you have access to thousands of products and services from verified merchants across Africa. Please review the following terms that govern your purchases.

Service Fees

Buyer Service Fee

A 1% service fee is automatically added to your total payment amount.

1% Added to Total

For example, if you purchase an item for ₦10,000, your total payment will be ₦10,100 (₦10,000 + ₦100 service fee).

Why the fee?

This fee helps us maintain secure payment processing, provide customer support, and continuously improve your shopping experience on Helparr.

Payments & Refunds

  • All payments are processed securely through Paystack and other trusted payment providers
  • Refund requests must be made within 24 hours of purchase for digital goods and 7 days for physical products
  • Refunds are processed to your original payment method within 5-10 business days
  • The 1% service fee is non-refundable except in cases of merchant fraud
  • Disputed transactions will be investigated and resolved within 14 business days

Buyer Rights

Purchase Protection

All purchases are protected against fraud and unauthorized transactions.

Dispute Resolution

You have the right to raise disputes and receive fair resolution from our support team.

Reviews & Ratings

Leave honest reviews to help other buyers and hold merchants accountable.

Buyer Conduct

Prohibited Activities

Buyers who engage in fraudulent chargebacks, harassment of merchants, or abuse of the refund system may have their accounts suspended or terminated.

Terms for Merchants & Store Owners

By creating a store on Helparr, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read carefully as violations may result in account suspension or permanent termination.

Platform Fees

Merchant Commission Fee

Helparr deducts a 1% commission fee from every successful sale made through your store.

1% Deducted from Sales

For example, if a customer purchases an item for ₦10,000, you will receive ₦9,900 after the 1% platform fee is deducted.

What you get for the fee:

Access to our marketplace, secure payment processing, customer support, marketing exposure, analytics dashboard, and all platform features.

Payouts & Earnings

  • Earnings are credited to your Helparr Wallet after successful order completion
  • Withdrawals can be made to your linked bank account at any time
  • Minimum withdrawal amount is ₦500
  • Withdrawals are processed within 24-48 hours on business days
  • Disputed orders will have funds held until resolution

Violations & Penalties

Important Warning

Helparr has a zero-tolerance policy for fraud, impersonation, and illegal activities. Violations will result in immediate action against your account.

Store Impersonation

Creating a store that impersonates another business, uses another brand's name, logo, or identity without authorization, or attempts to deceive customers into thinking they are buying from another merchant.

Permanent Account Ban
Selling Counterfeit/Fake Products

Listing or selling counterfeit, fake, knockoff, or replica products that infringe on trademarks or misrepresent the product's authenticity, quality, or origin.

Selling Illegal Products

Listing or attempting to sell any items that are illegal under Nigerian law or international regulations, including but not limited to drugs, weapons, stolen goods, or prohibited substances.

Misleading Product Information

Providing false or misleading descriptions, images, or pricing information about products. This includes using stock photos that don't represent the actual product.

Failure to Fulfill Orders

Consistently failing to ship products, not responding to customers, or having excessive order cancellations without valid reasons.

Price Manipulation

Artificially inflating prices, bait-and-switch tactics, or coordinating with others to manipulate market prices.

Fraudulent Activities

Any form of fraud including fake reviews, payment manipulation, identity theft, or attempting to circumvent platform security measures.

Permanent Account Ban + Legal Action

Prohibited Items

The following items are strictly prohibited from being listed on Helparr:

  • Illegal drugs, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia
  • Weapons, firearms, ammunition, or explosives
  • Stolen or illegally obtained goods
  • Counterfeit currency or documents
  • Human organs, body parts, or human remains
  • Endangered species or products derived from them
  • Hazardous materials or toxic substances
  • Adult content or pornographic materials
  • Items that promote hate, violence, or discrimination
  • Unauthorized copies of copyrighted materials
  • Prescription medications without proper licensing
  • Gambling services or lottery tickets

Verification Requirements

To maintain a safe marketplace, all merchants are required to complete our verification process:

Government-Issued ID

Valid National ID, Driver's License, or International Passport

Business Registration (Optional)

CAC Certificate for registered businesses to get verified badge

Valid Business Address

Physical location or verifiable address for your business operations

Merchant Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date product listings with clear descriptions and photos
  • Respond to customer inquiries within 24 hours
  • Process and ship orders within the stated timeframe
  • Handle customer complaints and returns professionally
  • Keep your business information and verification documents current
  • Comply with all applicable Nigerian laws and regulations
  • Report any suspicious activities or policy violations to Helparr
  • Maintain product quality standards and accurate stock levels

Appeals Process

If your account has been suspended and you believe this was in error, you may appeal by contacting appeals@helparr.com with your case details.
